How to make a padded stool from chipboard with a lid?
Do-it-yourself pouf in the shape of a cube can be placed in the living room or in the nursery.
Materials and Tools
To work, we need:
- Chipboard sheet.
- Wood bars (4 pieces) 4x4x437 cm.
- Piano loop.
- Furniture swivel castors.
- Thick foam rubber 40x40x10 cm.
- Sintepon 45x160 cm.
- Strong fabric material for upholstery 55x165 cm.
- Cover material 65x65 cm.
- Electric jigsaw.
- Screwdriver.
- Furniture stapler.
- Self-tapping screws.
- Universal and wood glue.
Instruction manual
Getting started:
- We cut the blanks in the following sizes: front and back walls 40x37 cm, two side walls 37x37 cm, bottom of the base 40x40 cm. We assemble the cube using 4x4 cm bars with glue.
- When the glue dries, we further strengthen the bars with screws. So the foundation will become stronger. We fix the lower part with the same method.
-
We wrap synthetic winterizer side walls, securing with a stapler. On one of the corners we fasten the upholstery fabric with an overlap, turning the cut inward and leaving allowances of about 2 cm. We bend the allowances inside and on the bottom of the pouf using a stapler.
-
Glue the foam square onto the blank blank with glue.
- We wrap the lid with a cloth, bending the edges and securing it with a stapler from below.
- Using screws, we fix the cover to the wall in a loop. We fix the wheels to the bottom of the finished product. Do-it-yourself ottoman is ready!

How to sew a soft round pouf?
The original patchwork ottoman will give the house even more warmth and coziness. It is made from the remnants of tissue that are found in each.
Expendable materials
To sew such a puff, you will need:
- Trimming multi-colored fabrics.
- Fabric on the back of the ottoman.
- Rope.
- Filler.
- Button.
- Pins
- Scissors
- Ruler and pencil.
- Sewing machine.
Walkthrough
Getting started:

- From a solid fabric we cut out a circle of the same size - this will be the back of the pouf. Inside the pillowcase we hide the rope, fix it with pins and connect the fabric on the machine as close as possible to the rope.
- Leave a small hole to turn the workpiece.

Sew the edges of the rope and hide them with a hidden seam.
