For the manufacture of do-it-yourself ottoman from a tire we will need:
- new or used tire;
- 2 circles of MDF 6 mm thick, with a diameter of 55 cm;
- six screws;
- hammer drill;
- screwdriver;
- glue gun or super glue;
- screw cord 5 meters long, 10 mm thick;
- tire cleaning cloth;
- scissors;
- varnish;
- brush.
Step 1.
Clean the tires from dirt with a dry cloth; if the tire is very dirty, wash it and allow it to dry.
Step 2
Put 1 circle of MDF on the car tire and make 3 holes along the edges at 3 remote points so that the hammer penetrates the rubber.
Step 3
Using a screwdriver and self-tapping screws, fasten the MDF to the tire. Do the same with each hole and repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 on the other side of the tire.
Step 4
Using glue, secure one end of the cord to the center of the MDF circle.
Step 5
Holding with your hand continue to glue the cord in a spiral, remembering to use the required amount of glue in front of each circle.
Step 6
After you cover the entire MDF circle with a cord, do the same along the edges of the car tire.
Step 7
Turn the tire and continue to cover it with a cord until you reach the edge of the second circle of MDF.
Step 8
After the cord covers the entire surface of the tire, cut off the rest of the rope with scissors and tightly fasten the end of the cord.
Step 9
Apply varnish to the brush and cover the entire surface where the cord was used. Let the varnish dry completely.
