Tip. The quality of cleaning will not be higher if you use the most expensive detergents and cleaning products. In some cases, a much better effect is given by simple home remedies that are cheap and do not harm your health.
The surface
What is the best way to start cleaning the kitchen? Perhaps, with the most difficult and “dirty” work - wiping off an apron, kitchen tiles, facades and countertops.
- Tiles and other ceramic surfaces good soda wipes well. It is moistened with water until a paste-like state, and imposed on surfaces that require cleaning. Soda perfectly destroys fat stains. After some time, the surfaces are washed with water.
- Facades of the kitchenon which spots and dirty smudges can remain, wash well with ordinary household soap.
Kitchen cleaning tips would be incomplete without considering cleaning methods for different types of countertops.
- Wood worktop. If the material of the countertop is wood, it must be covered with oil (for example, linseed) to protect it from pollution. Clean wooden countertops with coarse salt or soda.
- Stone countertops washed with soap and water, and never use abrasives.
- Granite countertops you can not wash with substances that have an acidic reaction (vinegar), they are washed with dishwashing detergents with the addition of alcohol in a ratio of 3: 1, diluting this mixture with water.
Tip.Before starting a general cleaning of the kitchen, unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet and prepare it for defrosting. And also wet the stove with soapy water or a dishwashing detergent solution, and leave for a while. The grease and dirt will go away, at the end of the cleaning you only have to wipe it with a dry rag.
Refrigerator
Once a week, the contents of the refrigerator should be audited. By the time you have finished washing the surfaces, the refrigerator has already “thawed”, and you can begin to disassemble it.
- To get started, remove and inspect the products. Those that have expired or that have changed their appearance should be discarded.
- Remove shelves, plastic fruit containers, and other containers with soap or dishwashing detergent.
- Cleaning in the kitchen will require ammonia: it perfectly cleans old stains on the plastic of the refrigerator, and also helps to wash glass shelves to shine - just add a few drops of ammonia to the water that you will rinse them with.
- Soda, soap, detergent for dishes will help cope with the stains of fat in the refrigerator. Do not use aggressive detergents containing chlorine or triclosan. You can try to whiten yellow spots with toothpaste.
- After washing, everything that is included in the internal equipment of the refrigerator must be thoroughly dried and returned to its place.
Tip. If there is an unpleasant odor in the refrigerator, put a container of freshly ground coffee there. Silica gel bags (these are put in shoe boxes) remove the smell well.
Oven, microwave
In a modern kitchen, there are usually two “stoves” - a microwave and an electric or gas oven. All kitchen cleaning tips usually state that it is very difficult to clean them, but in fact this is not entirely true if you follow a simple scheme.
Read the instructions for the oven. Maybe she there is a cleaning functionpyrolytic or catalytic. If so, then you will have almost nothing to do.
- With pyrolytic cleaning, you just need to turn on the oven in the appropriate mode, and all the dirt will turn into ash, which can be removed with a damp cloth.
- With pyrolytic cleaning, all cleaning consists in washing the walls with soap and water.
If in your oven no special cleaning functionsGeneral cleaning of the kitchen will take a little longer.
- Dilute four tablespoons of soda in 0.5 l of water, pour this solution into the spray bottle and spray the walls of the oven.
- Leave for an hour, then rinse with water.
- If contaminated areas remain, repeat the procedure.
- In especially difficult cases, a rubber scraper for car windows can help.
- At the very end, wipe the walls with water and vinegar (1: 1).
The easiest part of cleaning in the kitchen is washing the microwave.
- Take a microwave bowl, pour a glass of water into it and squeeze the juice of one lemon there, or dilute two teaspoons of citric acid in it.
- Place a bowl of mortar inside and turn on the oven for 10 minutes at maximum power.
- Carefully remove the bowl and wipe the walls of the microwave with a dry cloth.
Tip. The first thing to do when starting to clean the stove is to remove the trays and racks from it and soak them in a deep container with hot water, adding a little liquid for the dishes. After half an hour they are easily cleaned with a sponge.
Dust
Cleaning the kitchen includes dusting all surfaces - shelves, jars with supplies, vessels with oil and spices, chandeliers, shades, upper surfaces of cabinets, hoods - all this accumulates dust, which also mixes with settling fat, and remove its not so simple.
Among the useful tips for cleaning the kitchen, one of the most important is not to leave “missed” places! Wipe all surfaces with a damp cloth: window slopes and window sills, window frames, walls and ceiling.
- We remove ordinary dust with a damp cloth, it is better if it is made of microfiber - such a fabric has many microscopic “hooks” that cling to mud deposits and perfectly remove them from different surfaces.
- Where the dust is mixed with fat, the rag will have to be moistened with soapy water.
- Metal surfaces, such as hoods, can easily be washed with vinegar diluted in water. Filters must be removed from the hood and washed in the dishwasher or in the sink using a dishwashing detergent.
- Do not forget to clean the blinds: they can be removed and washed with warm water and soap, or with dishwashing liquid.
Tip. Living plants help fight dust and fat in the kitchen, absorbing them. But this will not completely free you from cleaning, because the green leaves of plants also need to be cleaned of accumulating dust. But the plants perfectly clean the air from the products of combustion of domestic gas, which is important for kitchens with gas stoves.
Washing
- In order not to waste time and energy on washing the sink, cover it with a stopper, fill it with hot water to the top, and add some bleach to the water.
- After an hour, release the water, and wipe the sink with a sponge, on which a couple of drops of dishwashing liquid are applied.
- The mixer can be wiped with diluted vinegar or lemon juice to remove limescale.
- Dry the faucet and sink after washing.
