Dishwashers can be divided into two classes, like most kitchen appliances: some are built into furniture, others stand on their own. If you have already decided that you are buying a dishwasher, even before you started the repair, it makes sense to think about how to build it into the furniture.
Appearance of a dishwasher built-in type. Typically, the control panel is displayed on the end of the door.
The disadvantages of a dishwasher, which is already bought in a ready-made, repaired kitchen - you have to put it separately, which means there is a risk of not getting into the general style of the room. Here you have to make a choice based on the size of the kitchen itself, the number of people in the family and the amount of dishes that you normally wash in a day. Such cars come in various colors, for example, in addition to standard white - black, metallic, red.
Appearance of a free-standing dishwasher. The control panel is on the front side of the door, usually in its upper part.
We list all the advantages of a dishwasher
- Time. This machine will save at least a couple of hours a day if you entrust it with washing the dishes. It can be devoted to much more enjoyable activities.
- Convenience. The dishwasher is simple and convenient to use, even children can use it.
- Saving. A simple calculation shows that with a manual method of washing dishes, 30 to 60 liters of water are consumed in half an hour. At the same time, the dishwasher spends from 10 to 15 liters. Now, when almost every family has water meters, this is very important.
- Purity. The cons of the dishwasher usually record the consumption of special detergents. In fact, it doesn’t take more money than ordinary dishwashing liquids, but the result is quite different: the machine can easily wash the walls and bottom of pots, pans, burnt food from the bottom and other complex contaminants.
- Disinfection. Do I need a dishwasher? If the family has a small child, the answer to this question should be positive. Only a dishwasher can thoroughly clean dishes from pathogenic microbes, because in it the temperature of the water can be raised to 100 degrees.
- Automation. Even if you have hot water turned off or there is no hot water at all, the dishwasher has it: the water will heat up automatically, just like in a washing machine.
- Autonomy. The significant advantages of the dishwasher include the possibility of its operation without the presence of a person at any given time.
- Safety. The opinion that the dishwasher spoils the dishes is erroneous. In fact, it retains its appearance, since abrasives and brushes are not used when washing.
- Simplicity. The disadvantages of the dishwasher can conditionally include the need to contact professionals for its installation. Only in this way will you have a guarantee in case of breakage. Although it could be simpler: I called the masters, and now the car is already connected, because it is really simple, you only need an entrance to the sewer and an outlet from the water supply.
- Security. As in the washing machine, the dishwasher provides for a stop of the water supply in the event of a malfunction, that is, you are guaranteed against flooding. This function is called aqua-stop.
- Sound. Do not be afraid that the car will not let you sleep at night - almost any of them works silently.
Minuses
It is impossible to answer the question whether your family needs a dishwasher without considering also all the disadvantages of this unit.
- Electricity. Of course, the car will cause additional energy consumption. But here you need to think what is more important for you - saving time or money. However, class A cars consume less than one kilowatt per hour.
- A place. A full-sized dishwasher is sometimes nowhere to put. Due to lack of space, you should not refuse to buy, pay attention to small machines for 2-6 sets of dishes. However, it is better to foresee where you put the dishwasher, even at the planning stage of repairs.
- Facilities. You will need to purchase additional consumables: rinse and water softeners, special tablets for dishwashers. But these costs are usually offset by the savings that the machine provides.
- Garbage. One of the disadvantages of the dishwasher is the need for pre-rinsing the dishes in order to remove food debris.
- Care. The machine needs additional care, in particular, you will have to remove and rinse the strainers from time to time.
Obviously, there are more pros than cons. And whether your family needs a dishwasher, and whether it is worth buying - you decide on the family council.
