Ceiling Design Options
According to the design, depending on the complexity and combination of forms, plasterboard ceilings are classified into 3 types.
Single level
This is a simple finish in which drywall sheets are attached at the same level. Even a thin sheet perfectly aligns the surface and after filling and painting they resemble a traditional plastered ceiling. This solution is applicable for bedrooms of any area, but most of all it will be appropriate for small rooms.
Duplex
Bunk ceilings consist of 2 parts, which are fastened at different levels, forming a recess - a niche. The latter is a higher section of the suspension system, to which the lower tier of the slabs is mounted by means of gutters. They are curly, in the form of a wave, etc.
Multilevel (3 levels or more)
This option involves two or more levels. The profile frame, on which the gypsum wall is attached, is formed by the type of steps, at different heights. Such a constructive solution allows you to focus on certain areas of the bedroom.

When decorating the ceiling in the bedroom there are no frames and restrictions; both individual styles and their combinations are used, using different decoration elements.
Backlit
When installing a ceiling from drywall, any lighting system is installed. Each of the devices has advantages. For example, the baroque style will perfectly complement the traditional chandelier, spots and spotlights will help to zoning the space, the LED strip organizes hidden lighting.
Drawings and patterns
To create volumetric compositions on the ceiling plane, sheets of GVL are used. They are decorated by applying drawings to the surface, putty, sculpting, hand painting.
Stretch ceiling combination
An interesting design move for the bedroom is considered to be a combination of drywall filing with elements of a stretch ceiling. Typically, the construction is two-level, where the place of the niche is occupied by a PVC film, and a box of drywall protrudes along the edges.
Bicolor
The contrast of shapes and colors can advantageously increase the space and give the room originality. The ceiling composition is created by combining two shades that are in harmony with each other, wall and floor finishes.
Options for shapes and shapes on the ceiling
The properties of the material make it possible to realize even extraordinary ideas. The most popular for the bedroom is the following geometry of the ceilings:
- Circles and ovals. Such ceiling structures are usually performed in a two-tier format, where the niche space takes an oval or round shape. They are able to visually adjust the space.
- Rectangles and squares. The classic version of the suspended ceiling, applicable for a multi-tier frame. A niche in this design is made in the form of a rectangle or square and is able to visually increase the room.
- Triangles. A particularly bold decision when designing a bedroom in an ultramodern style. The frame for drywall is created in several levels, the highest of which takes a triangular shape.
- Non-standard. Abstractions and other unusual designs (flowers, leaves, curls, clouds, etc.) that are not related to certain geometric configurations.
Design options in various styles
Plasterboard ceiling is made for any style. Most popular options:
- Classical. The ceilings are a perfectly flat and smooth surface, with a possible niche or small stepped tiers. The color of the finish is selected based on the preferences of the owner, but more often it is light colors. The decor is also set by curly vaults, stucco elements, etc.
- Modern. Structures from gypsum plasterboards in the style of hi-tech, art deco, minimalism, modernism allow any geometry, but more often, restrained regular forms are chosen, without excesses, which do not create a heap. These bedrooms are characterized by maximum simplicity and concise design.
