Principles of style
Style features differ in the following indicators:
- A lot of free space is welcome. To do this, the room is furnished with compact and functional furniture, and decor is used in moderation. Here not too elaborate objects with a certain functional load are appropriate.
- The main color is white, which is combined with sand, pale green, blue, smoky and other pastel colors. To revive the interior, apply accents of red, yellow or blue.
- For the manufacture of furniture and decoration materials, natural natural wood, stone, fur or leather is used.
- In the modern version of the Nordic trend, the design is diluted with elements of minimalism, hi-tech or loft.

Gray Scandinavian style hallway
Ash has a huge number of tones. For the basic background in the Scandinavian style, whitened and lighter shades are chosen. Pewter, mother-of-pearl or platinum in combination with a natural wood flooring, furniture elements, an entrance door and a ceiling plane of white color will allow achieving a neutral and monochrome design of the corridor.
For visual expansion of a small hallway in the Scandinavian style, in a room with white trim, one wall can be highlighted in gray. To increase the height of the ceiling, the upper part of the walls is decorated in white shades, and the lower - in gray.
White Scandinavian hallway
The design of the white hallway in the Scandinavian style, has a stylish, sophisticated appearance and is always quite relevant. The snow-white design favorably emphasizes the refined taste of the owner of the apartment or house. With the competent selection of harmonious color combinations, a simple white color will sparkle in a new way and perfectly complement the interior concept.
Pure and delicate white tones are especially suitable for a small Scandinavian-style entrance hall. The light gamut will visually enlarge the room, fill it with light and air.
Hallway with black and bright details
The light interior of the hallway, diluted with opposite black shades in combination with wooden pieces of furniture, will look rather unusual. In a Scandinavian style, charcoal should be used in moderation. Accents in the form of a floor mat, hangers for outerwear, flowerpots or frames for photographs will do.
You can transform the situation and deprive it of a certain sterility due to green patches that fill the hallway with naturalness or yellow colors that give the room additional warmth. For those who prefer neutral and calm tones, beige is perfect.
Finishing and materials
To finish the floor in the corridor, exclusively wooden flooring in the form of boards is used. They are coated with varnish or white paint. Also, the floor can be laid with ceramic tiles or laminate with imitation of light wood.
In the interior in the Scandinavian style, the surface of the walls is painted, monophonic wallpapers or canvases with discreet prints are used. Finishing is done in white, milk, cream and other light shades. If there are brick walls in the hallway, they can partially be left in their unprocessed and original form. Such a design decision will create an original accent in the corridor.
The ceiling will be appropriate to paint or whiten. A less laborious method that does not require leveling and additional surface preparation is a stretch ceiling with a matte texture.
Entrance furniture
Since the Nordic style is simple and natural, a wooden furniture is installed in the interior of the corridor, which has compact dimensions and at the same time a solid look. The presence of rough designs without unnecessary pompous decor is welcome. In the room you can place an open rack and shelves, as well as arrange the room using a bench or stool.
The spacious Swedish-style corridor is equipped with a functional hanger or dressing room. Sometimes the atmosphere is complemented by armchairs, a sofa, a cupboard, a chest of drawers and a console and a coffee table made of natural solid wood.
Decor and lighting
The design of the corridor should be consistent, rational and include the most functional details.
Elements in the form of a floor rug with bright ethnic patterns, decorative pillows, color photo frames, paintings, wooden and ceramic accessories or bright umbrellas will be an excellent Scandinavian-style interior decoration. Add vivacity to northern minimalism will help vases and pots of living plants. In Scandinavia, the use of antiques, large baskets, chests of drawers, armchairs and antique chests restored by yourself is encouraged.
A large number of lighting devices should be present in the corridor. For scandi-interior use traditional chandeliers, various sconces having a straightforward shape, floor lamps and LED lighting. To create the necessary atmosphere in the room, the decor is festooned or the tiled floor is equipped with matte light squares.

Scandinavian-style corridor design ideas
The Nordic interior can be revitalized with a wide variety of unusual objects. For example, an original decoration and an interesting installation will be a bicycle in lilac, scarlet, green or other colors, hung on the wall. A similar composition is created using bright umbrellas, a hat with a colored ribbon, or a pair of boots in acid shades.
Textiles in the Swedish style are rather reserved. If a window is located in the hallway of the house, it is decorated with plain roller shutters, blinds or a simple linen curtain. It is appropriate to complement the surrounding design with a rug using the patchwork technique or a track with Celtic ornaments.
Examples of a small Scandinavian style entrance hall
When choosing the Scandinavian style for the design of a small hallway in Khrushchev, they use white wall and ceiling finishes that expand the space. As a flooring, materials in gray tones or natural light wood are suitable.
The main rule for a small room is the minimal use of furniture. In the corridor, several wall hooks, hanging shelves and a shoe stand with a seat will be enough. A large mirror will help to emphasize the style direction and increase the illumination in the room.
Scandy-style narrow corridor design
Decorating in bright colors will effectively cope with the visual expansion of a narrow corridor. For optical magnification and adjustment of long spaces, it is appropriate to install spot-mounted ceiling lights that fill the room with an even set.
In the narrow hallway in the Scandinavian style, you can also install a wall or floor mirror in a simple frame or a wardrobe with a mirror facade.
