Daylight
First of all, the child's room should be well lit during the day. Particular attention is paid to the workplace where the lessons are being done. It is desirable that it is located at the window. More will be daytime light in the nursery - all the better. But you can’t overdo it here.
If the windows face south, in the daytime it is better to shade them with transparent curtains so as not to create excessive eye strain. Perfect daylight option lighting for children - windows facing southeast.
If the nursery looks north with windows, there are two options to increase daylight: use reflective surfaces and white as the main color in the decoration, or increase the window opening, which is more troublesome and expensive, but much more efficient.
Central lighting
Typically, a central lamp is combined in a room with several additional ones - sconces or floor lamps that illuminate certain areas, for example, a work or rest area.
For lighting in the nursery It is also advisable to use spotlights located around the perimeter of the ceiling so that the entire area of the room is illuminated equally well, because when they play, children climb into the farthest corners of the room, and it is important that they also have the opportunity to not strain their eyesight.
Work light
The most stringent requirements light in the children's room presents a working area. To preserve vision, it is necessary to correctly position the desk lamp, it should not create shadows on the working surface of the table. It is necessary to select the required power of the lighting device, and also to avoid light from the lamp directly into the eyes, for which it should be placed below eye level.
If you hang shelves above the workplace, then uniform illumination of the desktop can be obtained using spotlights located in their lower part.
Additional lighting
Lighting for a nursery should not be limited to functional lighting alone. Here decorative lamps in the form of beacons for “marine” design, or luminous toys for the smallest children, are quite appropriate.
Floor lamps
Using the floor lamp, you can select a zone for games or a working area. You can also mark with light the area near the bed, so that, having plunged the rest of the room into twilight, the child could better prepare for bed.
The main requirements for such lamps are safety. Luminaires used for lighting in the nursery, must be stable, not contain easily cracking elements, in case the lamp is broken, there should not be small and sharp fragments from it. Wires and cords must be removed as much as possible so that the child cannot get tangled in them and drop them.
Night lights
A separate topic is the night light in the nursery. The power of the night light should not be large so as not to interfere with sleep. At the same time, too little lighting can create shadows that frighten young children. Usually, children's night lights are made in the form of toys that glow in the dark.
As a night lamp, you can use sconces located at the head of the bed.If you equip them with a rheostat switch, they will perform two functions at once: first, at full lamp power, you can read a book or flip through a magazine, and then, reducing the brightness to a minimum, use a sconce instead of a night lamp.
Most importantly arranging lighting for children - Do not forget about the safety of the child, and carefully check the compliance of the lamps with all requirements.
