Country harmoniously combines the past and present, it is both simple and elegant. The most famous versions of the style are Provence (French village), Russian log hut and English village. All of them share common stylistic features, although, of course, each option has its own national characteristics. Whichever option you choose to design a country-style children's room, it should have the following features:
- the simplest finish, sometimes even rude;
- natural materials in the decoration (wood, stone, plaster);
- metal elements in furniture decoration (forging, bronze, brass, copper).
Of course, the chosen option should reflect the history, traditions and culture of the country. The country style in the interior of the children's room involves the use of simple furniture, natural textiles with stripes, cages, polka dots or small flowers. Handmade accessories are welcome: folk toys, rustic homespun rugs, various crafts made of wood and clay, a variety of curtains, rugs, bedspreads.
Color scheme
In a country-style nursery, almost any color can be used, but they should have natural shades. Bright “synthetic” and “luminescent” paints are inappropriate here. If light pastel color is chosen as the main tone, then the upholstery and textiles can be more saturated, juicy. If the decoration is bright enough, the textiles are selected in pastel shades.
The best colors for a country-style children's room are green, yellow, brown, terracotta, blue, orange and all their shades. Natural colors such as green apple, ripe peach, ripe wood, grass, moss are welcome.
Finish
When finishing, you can use a wide variety of materials, depending on the variety of style.
- Walls. In the Provencal version of the country, rough stucco is left on the walls, the Russian version allows walls made of wooden blocks, and the English version has a small flower wallpaper. You can also lay out the walls with tiles, decorative stone, finish with plaster or paint. Usually the walls are not additionally decorated.
- Floor. To cover the floor it is best to use a parquet board. Some country style options in the nursery's interior allow the use of mats, carpets, and even tiles. Carpet paths, tied from pieces of fabric, are placed on tile floors - both Russian huts and American farmers ranch decorate these. National color is manifested in the ornaments of such ornaments. Categorically, modern materials, and especially bulk floors, should be avoided - they will fall out of style and create dissonance.
- Ceiling. The children's ceiling in the country style can be just white and even, or have some kind of light shade. A fully wooden ceiling is also possible. In both cases, wooden beams crossing it along or across will serve as an additional decoration.
Furniture
The furniture used in the nursery should be as simple as possible, made of natural wood. At the same time, the texture of the tree can be visible, but it can also be hidden under a layer of paint. In the Provence variant, this paint may be slightly “aged”, giving the subject a touch of antiquity. Polished furniture is completely excluded.
Chests of different sizes, boxes, baskets are appropriate in a country-style children's room.They can store toys, drawing accessories and much more that a child needs. The interior can be supplemented with wicker chairs, a rocking chair, a small soft sofa or a bench on which to place soft pillows.
Advice:
- books can be placed on shelves suspended from the ceiling itself;
- for storage of toys it is worth using wooden chests;
- cabinet doors can be replaced with textile blinds.
Textile
Country style in the interior of the nursery will help to emphasize correctly selected textiles. It should be a lot, and it should be natural. Unlike classics, which uses expensive fabrics, country-style textiles are simple and democratic, as a rule, chintz, linen, cotton.
Bright colors, stripes, cage, polka dots, bouquets of flowers - all this will fill the room with optimism and make it truly cheerful.
Rustic Curtains can be decorated with ribbons, ruffles, lace, and as pickups you can use simple cords or even coarse ropes, depending on the chosen direction of style. Patchwork - textile items made in patchwork technique decorates the nursery very much. Blankets, plaids, pillows made of multi-colored shreds will add comfort and emphasize the chosen style.
