Characteristics of the Scandinavian style
Scandinavian style is a direction in interior design, which is characterized by natural materials, the predominance of light shades, rigor, simple geometry of the lines. The rooms are not cluttered and spacious with a minimal amount of decor. The main underlying direction is not decor, but a game of contrasts, sensations and feelings. In such a design, zoning, various partitions, height differences, etc. are appropriate.
- The main task of the doors is to open and close access to the room without attracting attention.
- Most often, Scandinavian-style doors are deprived of decorative elements and simply painted in a certain color.
- Initially, only light wood species were used for manufacturing or dark ones were painted in light shades. Now it is permissible to produce products from veneer, polyvinyl chloride and other artificial analogues.
- Particular attention is paid to the platbands. They are made as invisible, subtle as possible, the tone is chosen exclusively similar to the door.
- The fittings are simple, without fanciful elements, usually silver, not gold and dull instead of shiny and bright glossy.
- Often door leaves repeat the texture of walls or floors. This technique is used to minimize their visibility in the room. In exceptional cases, Scandinavian drawings are applied to the door: patterns in the form of snowflakes, zigzags, deer and trees. Cell and strip are also popular.
Types of doors
There are two types of doors - interior and exterior, consider each of them.
Interior
Doors in the Scandinavian interior are found mainly from light wood: birch, pine and ash. The natural texture of the log house emphasizes the wealth of the owners and brings elements of comfort and warmth. Also used are PVC sheets, veneers, lightweight with honeycomb, laminated.
- Sliding doors (sliding). They will help to divide the spacious room of the apartment in the Scandinavian style or to make the closet and niche less noticeable. They give the room urbanism, helping in their own home to feel the atmosphere of a big city.
- Swing. They give a lot of light and free space, characteristic of the houses of Scandinavia. Bivalve models are made from a solid array or with inserts of frosted or smooth glass.

Doors are usually matched to the color of already sheathed walls and floors or wooden, similar to furniture. They are mounted to maintain the overall temperature in the house - if all the interior elements are in a warm range, then the shade of the doors should not be cold.
They take several rules as a basis: all surfaces are painted in the same tone or combined in two classic combinations: white and black, red and white, white and blue.
White

Brown
A brown doorway, as a rule, should be chosen to combine it with a wooden furniture set, parquet, or laminate flooring. A variety of shades of brown will help make the room special. This coffee and dark walnut, and the color of mahogany, beige and a shade of freshly brewed coffee.
Black color
Black and those close to him: wenge and blackberry, are inferior to white in universality. Unlike airy and weightless light, dark doors give the interior sharpness, severity and grace. Especially effective if they are decorated with metal fittings: made of brass or bronze with a matte finish.
Gray
